What this site does and does not do

SimRacing Hub is a static website. It sets no advertising or analytics cookies, runs no tracking pixels, and embeds no social-media widgets that load automatically. Web fonts are self-hosted, so no requests are made to Google Fonts. The processing described below is limited to what is technically necessary to deliver the site, plus a page-view counter and an optional comment function you have to switch on yourself.

Hosting and server log files

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you access a page, your browser transmits data that GitHub records in server log files, in particular:

  • your IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • the page requested and the referring page
  • browser type and version, and operating system

This processing is necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a functioning, secure website). Data is transferred to the USA; GitHub relies on the EU standard contractual clauses and is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Details: GitHub Privacy Statement.

Page-view counter

Some pages display a view counter. It is operated by us through a Cloudflare Worker at simracing-page-counter.simracing-hub.workers.dev. Calling it transmits your IP address to Cloudflare, Inc. as our processor; we store only an aggregate count, no individual visitor profiles and no cookies. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in basic reach measurement).

Comment function (Disqus) — only after you click

The Hardware page offers a comment function provided by Disqus (Disqus, Inc. / Zeta Global, 3 World Trade Center, 175 Greenwich Street, New York, NY 10007, USA).

Disqus does not load automatically. The comment area stays empty until you actively click “Load comments”. Until you do, no data is sent to Disqus and no cookies are set.

If you do click it, Disqus is loaded and may set cookies, process your IP address and, if you log in, your account data. That processing takes place on the basis of your consent under Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, given by the click. You can withdraw it at any time by reloading the page without clicking. Further information: Disqus Privacy Policy.

External links (YouTube, Twitch and others)

Videos and streams are referenced as plain links, not embedded players. Nothing is loaded from YouTube, Twitch or any other provider until you deliberately follow such a link, at which point that provider’s own privacy policy applies.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15)
  • have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
  • have your data erased (Art. 17)
  • restrict processing (Art. 18)
  • data portability (Art. 20)
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3))

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As we are established in France, the competent authority is the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés, 3 Place de Fontenoy, 75007 Paris) — but you may also complain to the authority of your own habitual residence.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the site changes or the legal situation requires it. Last updated: 7 August 2026.
